National High School Business Conference

Hi everyone! My name is Saige Edwards and I am a Grade 11 student at Rundle College. Today, I had the pleasure to attend the National High School Business Conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned about investments. This workshop helped deepen my understanding of what problems may come up in businesses and how to solve them through different ways of investing and promoting the goals of your business. The main take away from the keynote speakers is to invest money early on because interests rates will continue to rise. Through the case studies I encountered that to invest time and money into a company they need to have a strong consumer basis for success. This conference I enjoyed most about how this company has created a platform for high schoolers to expand their knowledge into problem solving the business industry. I enjoyed that we were given a short amount of time to complete tasks because this showed that we are able to come up with ideas quickly. This was my first time competing in a case competition and I learned a great amount of information through these 6 hours. I will apply my new found knowledge to my personal development by investing early into stocks that will increase my wealth and profit faster than the banks would give with their 3% interest rates.
