My experience at NHBC

Hi everyone! My name is Miranda and I am a Grade 9 student at Unionville Highschool. Today, I was pleased to attend the National High School Business Conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned during the NHBC hosted by Illuminate. To be honest I came into this conference knowing nothing about business, never taken a business course in my life nor touched a case competition. Coming out of this competition I feel so much more confident about my business skills, even though I may not pursue business in the future I've learned so much from my team members and just to believe in myself. I don't think I would have ever imagined myself coming up with a business proposal in 50 minutes and presenting it to a judge.

I've also learned so much from the people at the conference whether that be participants, guest speakers or workshops. There are so many things you can learn that are applicable not only to business owners but also just day-to-day people. Things like assets, stocks, investments and returns are all things we need to think about. I am so grateful for this opportunity and would definitely recommend it to anyone even if you're not looking for a future in business because before you know it, you might ;)
