Illuminate X Markham - Exciting, Enthusiastic, Empowering

Hi everyone! My name is Krishna Chauhan and I am a Grade 11 student at Woburn CI. Today, I had the pleasure to attend Illuminate x Markham’s regional conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned about social entrepreneurship and the experiences of successful entrepreneurs.

We had many guest speakers come to inspire us with their stories of how they had to face challenges to get where they are now. Overall, they made me realize that many people faced the same fears that I did throughout their careers and that felt reassuring since they broke through their fears so now I know I can too, weather that may be breaking the ice or taking the first step into the unknown. The experience of Mash Chowdhury especially intrigued me as I was also planning on doing something software related, but more importantly in his he didnt know how to get a job at first. But he asked people he didnt know, and he pulled through and got a job in his field. Never before have I been so inspired.

Moreover, the presentations made by our fellow competitors were so informative, they inspired me to learn more, be faster, and better in everyway. I would like to thank the event coordinators to expose me to such an experience and went above and beyond to help us plan for the future.
